Simon Dunstall A truely beautiful and wondrous rework of Element Zero, it just flows like it should and a very very worthy artist on the same bandwith as Variant well done

biff Johnson This excavation by Coppice (Dayton, Ohio) is an epic re-visit of Element Zero. The story he tells through sound is a very respectful take on Variant's major work in long form soundscapes. Great arrangement, movement ,and build up of drama in an awesome way.

caustic widow CH absolutely nails this one, from the first minute to the last total submersion in a sonic cyclone that feels like it permeates every cell in the body. And it rocks, body jacking, head banging elevation. Somehow it feels like this piece gives the sometimes aimless sounding vortextual series the transcendent moment it has been searching for.

about

This beautiful rework comes from one of the most prolific artists in the scene today, Coppice Hallifax. A new player in the echospace domain but one who's no stranger to this sound, he's released 100's of albums over the span of 15 years. We believe his music is built from the same purist analog frame of thought and continues in spirit. He plays variant's "element zero" into an ocean of analog bliss, dubbed out into a shadowy sonic world all its own. For those of you who adored the obscure Chain Reaction releases, this is most certainly an immense trip for the heads and one you need to take!

Artist's thoughts on the reworking of [element zero]:

"On the specifics of what I used to do it: Peavey 24ch mixer using all six aux sends, including Pioneer spring reverb, Alesis Quadraverb, Boss RC20, Moog ring mod, BBE Two Timer analog delay and Ibanez Phase Modulator. These were also routed into their own input channels, so feedback was happening in parts, and then I was running excerpts and FFT processed loops of Element Zero into the mixer independently via a prepared four track cassette, which on its own aux send was using a Danelectro Reel Echo unit. Beyond even that, the looping chord I built from the Echoes In Space library was coming off a prepared tape loop on my Roberts 450A reel to reel, running split outputs through a Behringer Ultrashift, Moog low pass filter and a Moog MIDI MuRF/Boss SL20."
